It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our youngest son, Neil Paul McIntyre, at the age of 46 years. Born on June 10, 1970, Neil died at home on February 13, 2017, surrounded by loving family.
Neil is survived by his parents, John and Patricia McIntyre of Edmonton; daughter and son, Alison and Michael McIntyre; granddaughter, Kaurah McIntyre; and the mother of his children, Thelicia Dang. He is lovingly remembered by his three older brothers, John (Carmen), Danny (Marianne) and Brian (Candice); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in both Canada and Northern Ireland. Predeceased by his grandparents, John and Finvola McIntyre; and Daniel and Elizabeth Carey, all of County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
Neil excelled at all sports, especially soccer, and won a scholarship to the University of Illinois thanks to Father Troy. After breaking his ankle, Neil chose to call Edmonton home and roofed alongside his father and brothers. He called himself the rock of Shamrock Roofing. Neil loved fishing, the Rocky Mountains, and his children very much.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, Dr. Thomas Bray, Dr. Ronald Barton, nurse Susanne from AHS Palliative Home Care, and the local EMS and EPS. Special thanks to Reverend Frank Stempfle to attending to Neil on his passing.
