Hazel Harkness
On May 13, 2017, Hazel Harkness of Sangudo, AB, formerly of James Smith Reserve, SK, passed away at the age of 80 years.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 50 years, David; children, Vera (Frank) Pocé, Ida (Andre Larose) Favel, Ellen (Merv Lyons) Favel, Kayla (Gary Fairweather) Favel and Brandon (Lindsay Nairn) Favel; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Olive (Chris) Modersohn; sister-in-law, Nellie Head; and many more dear relatives and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Roderick and Betsy Head; sons, Elmer and Ernest John; daughter, June Beth; brothers, James, Paul and Alvin; sisters, Maria, Mariam and Irene; and brothers-in-law, Jack and Jerry.
Many thanks to Dr. Bablitz and staff of the Whitecourt Healthcare Center for the care shown to Hazel and the family.
Funeral Service Friday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sangudo Community Hall, 4920 – 50 Street, Sangudo, AB. Reverend Travis Enright officiating with interment in Peavine Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
