Every service can be personalized to pay tribute to the life and personality of your loved one.
We pride ourselves on being able to customize and personalize every detail of each funeral services to provide something meaningful and unique.
A long-standing tradition, burial is a method of final disposition whereby your loved one is laid to rest in a casket,
which is then buried in a cemetery or entombed in a mausoleum.
There are some steps you will need to go through if burial (also referred to as interment) is the choice of final rest for your loved one, or when you personally select burial during your own funeral preplanning . One of the first choices you must make is to choose both the cemetery and a precise place of burial within its grounds or the placement of a crypt in a mausoleum. After that, you must choose a casket and burial vault as required. Your funeral director will be able to tell you if your cemetery requires the use of a burial vault. The next step will be choosing a grave monument or crypt plaque and composing its inscription.
An alternative to burial, cremation refers to the method of disposition where the body is reduced to
bone fragment through application of high heat, open flame and the resulting evaporation.
The decision of choosing cremation is based on a various number of aspects including: cultural, religious or spiritual beliefs, finances, ecological awareness, etc. Once the decision for cremation has been made, we require the legal authorization and signature of the individual who is in charge of making funeral arrangements. Once all authorization papers are signed, we apply to the Medical Examiner's Office and Vital Statistics for documents that are required before cremating.
After cremation occurs, you must also decide what will happen to your loved one's cremated remains. If you wish to keep them close by, you can choose from our various types of urns, ornaments, and personalized memorial keepsakes. It is also wise to consider who will care for the cremated remains long term and generation to generation if you choose to keep your urn at home. If you choose to scatter* your loved one's cremated remains, we offer a variety of scattering tube designs to make this process easier. We can also assist with choosing an urn vault and planning procedures should you choose to inurn your loved one's cremated remains in the cemetery or in a niche in a columbarium.
*Please note that each province has its own laws governing the scattering of cremated remains. Click

Repatriating a person’s body can be a complicated process. Local and federal laws and regulations control how the body is to be handled and transported; there are often fees, expenses for embalming, costs for containers, and shipping costs in addition to the many steps and forms involved in transporting human remains cross-border.
Trust us to simplify this procedure for you. Transporting a loved one home can be simpler and more affordable than you think. We offer specialized products and services including shipping boxes, hermetically sealed containers, banding and sealing, as well as translation services required based on government regulations. Park Memorial has been certified through Air Cargo Security with Known Consignor Status, which means that our consignments are allowed to travel as air cargo that might otherwise be impossible to security screen. There will be no delay waiting for security clearance and this eliminates any security charges imposed by the freight agent or airline.
Our care for you and your family is continuous.
Park Memorial believes that our service to families and to our grieving community needs to continue beyond the funeral service. We provide both assistance with the many documents and forms that must be filled out when settling an estate, as well as grief support programs. We also offer small group monthly grief support events, as well as annual / biennial large group events that are accessible by the entire community.

Park Memorial Edmonton has an on-site crematorium that services all five of our locations.
Although there is no set determination of terminology for a farewell service, traditionally a funeral service is a ceremony with the body of the deceased present in a casket, and a celebration of life is a ceremony that most often takes place after cremation, and the urn is frequently present.
